Michael Nelms, FNP-BC

Originally from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Michael began his career in healthcare as a surgical technician in 1994. While working full time in the operating room, he completed the Associates Degree in Nursing Program at Shelton State Community College in 1996. In 1999, he completed the Bachelors Degree in Nursing Program from the University of South Alabama.

 

While being a staff circulating nurse, manager, and RN First Assistant, he completed the Masters of Nursing Program at Mississippi University for Women in Columbus, MS, in 2006.

 

Upon graduation as a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, Michael moved to Brandon, MS, where he has worked for the past 17 years in neurosurgery and sports medicine.

 

Michael served as a reserve officer in the United States Navy as part of the Naval Hospital, Pensacola for 11 years. He worked as both an operating room nurse and as a Family Nurse Practitioner. He received an Honorable Discharge in 2003.

 

Michael is married to Karen. They have 4 children and a grandson. He is very excited to be a part of bringing The Men’s Clinic to Brandon.
